Your Financial & Investment Adviser in Cambridge, Boston
Our financial planning process is designed primarily for you. We are only interested in doing what's in the best interest of our clients. Even if this means us telling you things you don't want to hear. We want you to sleep better at night knowing all details about your financial life are being looked after.
We continue to accept commissions from certain products, usually in the case of insurance and sometimes annuities. While we like some of the fee-only products in the market, we know that the insurance industry offers better products through commission-based channels. If this were to change in the future, we would be happy to consider becoming fee only.
We also think that the current market conditions give a considerable premium for a financial advisor to sign on a client as a fee-only client or one that generates predictable recurring revenue. We are reluctant to push clients into a fee-only arrangement where we know the highest compensation for us.
We charge AUM fees for assets you ask us to manage. We think our prices are fair, significantly less than most of our competitors. We do not have an asset minimum. We currently use several custodians and are always reviewing the best ones for our clients. Most of our smaller accounts are held at Betterment.

So if a person has a $5000 IRA account that they want to open with us, we would charge approximately $30 a year. We expect the client to pay additional charges of about $15 a year for investment management and other account related fees.
